Product & Manufacturing Profile
Core Products
Carlyle offers a broad range of dietary supplements very similar to its sister brand PipingRock. Key categories include vitamins (e.g. Vitamin D3, B-Complex), minerals, herbals (ashwagandha, turmeric, milk thistle), specialty supplements (collagen, probiotics), sports nutrients (whey protein, amino acids) and even essential oils. As of 2025, Carlyle has about 250–300 products, often marketed as non-GMO, gluten-free, and in various forms (capsules, softgels, liquids).
Manufacturing Model
All Carlyle products are manufactured by PipingRock in-house. PipingRock owns sprawling GMP-certified production facilities in New York (11 different facilities in Suffolk County) and a new 2021 facility in NC. This vertical integration covers everything from ingredient sourcing, lab testing, blending, to encapsulation and packaging. Having its own factories allows Carlyle to scale quickly and keep costs low.
Quality Certifications
PipingRock's facilities (and thus Carlyle's production) are GMP certified (audited to NSF/ANSI 173 standards). The company verifies products via third-party labs and even achieved ISO certifications for certain processes (PipingRock was ISO 9001 certified and has won "best places to work" for quality culture). Some Carlyle products carry seals like USP or NSF Certified for Sport if applicable, though many are not individually certified.
Third-Party Testing
Carlyle/PipingRock uses both in-house labs and external labs for quality control. Ingredients are tested for identity, potency, and contaminants (heavy metals, microbes) upon receipt. Finished products undergo batch testing. However, unlike some competitors, the brand does not routinely publish COAs to consumers (testing is for internal QA). They rely on PipingRock's longstanding industry experience (the founder pioneered QC at NBTY) to ensure quality.
Trust Score
Carlyle leverages the manufacturing rigor of PipingRock, which gives it a solid baseline of quality and safety (the company runs GMP-certified facilities and tests raw materials). The brand offers good value and generally meets label claims, earning consumer trust through consistency. However, Carlyle's transparency is limited – it does not publish test results or actively engage in public quality disclosures, and it exists mainly as a marketing label. Minor concerns include a Prop 65 notice for a related product (indicating room for tighter contaminant control) and the fact that it shares formulas across multiple brand names. Overall, Carlyle is reliable for basic supplements, but greater openness (e.g. sharing COAs or ingredient sourcing) would improve its trustworthiness.
